Having a website is just the start, promoting it and getting traffic is the next step. You may already be familiar on how to get traffic and links, but what this guide is going to do is teach you how to grow the traffic you already have.

Do you know that social bookmarking alone can easily get you over 1,000 unique visitors a day, at least 60% – 75% of the traffic will be targeted.

 

If you regularly submit your blog posts to social bookmarking sites it’s very easy to build a following, if someone likes your content then they will subscribe to your rss feed which means they will be back on a regular basis to read your posts. If they really like your posts then there is a high chance they will mention one of your articles on there site which will get you more traffic.

If you have already started to link build and draw traffic to your site then it would be a good idea to take a look at your Awstats, note all the sites that provide you traffic even if it is the odd one or two visitors.

With each site on your list spend a few minutes visiting it and see if there is anyway to increase the traffic from that site to yours, take a look at where your link is displayed on there site, the chances are if they are already linking to your site it should be easy enough to get another link.

From experience there are 5 methods which come to mind for effective link building and I will try to explain each one in detail giving you examples along the way so you can easily start building good strong links in no time.

I will list each methods seperatly so you can easily come back at any time to refresh your mind, it also makes reading this article a lot easier.

Social Bookmarking
Social bookmarking is probably one of the best methods for instant targeted traffic and instant seo links. The good thing about social bookmarking is you are able to produce a link with only a couple of clicks and with that one link you are able to promote your keyterm for the selected page and get a stream of targeted visitors. Over time you will be able to find your own social bookmarking sites to submit to but to start you off digg.com and reddit.com are great sites.

Article Marketing
Article marketing is another really effective method of producing long term traffic and more seo links. When writing your article you must make it as informative, interesting or as educational as possible, articles that are poorly written or have a strong sales pitch wont go far and will be a waste of your time. Articles with good content will be published by more website owners and the chances of them linking back to it is fairly high. With most article sites you are allowed to embed 3 links within the content and if you use your search engine terms the more articles that are published the higher up the search engine rankings you will go.

Press Releases

Press release sites are mainly used for really important information about your website or product, if you use press releases sites to inform people of unique services or products you will get a massive response from them.
