SEO 101 – The Importance Of The Keywords In Your Marketing Campaign

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

Search engines are great tools and can drive a lot of traffic to your website, but you have to use them actively. Unless your website shows up when a search is performed, potential visitors will not find your website. This is done by creating “signs” (keywords) that point a roadmap to your website.

The actual content on your website should contain the words that people would be typing in to a search engine. The relevance of the page is based on how similar the wording is to the words that people are searching for.

If you know what words people are searching for you should use them on your website and those you use should be very specific. Being more specific will mean your site is more relevant when people perform a search. Keywords are the starting point of the whole marketing strategy. Choose them incorrectly and your target audience may never find you.

It can be complex to find keywords that people are searching for about your product. Take care with the words that you use because, unlike you, they don’t know as much about the product so they may use different words when typing in to find you. Keywords relevant to your niche can be found by using online tools.

Good keyword tools and services available include Word Tracker and those provided when you set up your pay per click campaign with Google ad words or Yahoo. The results of these tools are well-founded as they are based on actual searches being done by the people looking for your product or service.

It is important to evaluate the potential effectiveness of each word in the keyword list. Do a quick search for the keyword and evaluate its popularity by seeing how many results appear. The services I mentioned above will also help you at this.

Search terms that are more popular are more likely to be entered into the search engines so you want to become relevant for those. Most importantly, you should put yourself in the place of the consumer and set up your website so that someone who doesn’t know anything about you will be able to find you.

Use Wordpress SEO To Climb Those Search Engine Rankings

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Wordpress is one of the most widely used blogging platforms for a reason. It really comes down to the Wordpress Content Management System, which is top of the line. Using Wordpress Content Management System will enable you to construct a top notch professional website of your own. Do you want more traffic than any other site? Then you want Wordpress!

This can help you herd a plethora of traffic to your site with its kicking features. To be able to use this incredibly advanced platform, though, you will need to learn how to go about optimizing your Wordpress blog for the various search engines. The most critical piece of the puzzle is amplifying your Wordpress settings and yet so many people completely leave this step out of the process. If you do focus on this one aspect, you can achieve the good results with the search engines.

The headings you choose for your Wordpress blog are very important if you want to rank near the top of search findings. Since search engines depend on relevant keywords to rank sites, your post title needs to have your targeted keywords in it. Such related keywords are a must have in your content and also your title. But be careful not to confuse the search engines with repeating titles. Use your keywords as much as you can, but don’t repeat your title anywhere else on the site.

Instead, have a list of related keywords by your side so that you can use them when writing titles for your posts. This doesn’t mean your title should only impress the search engines; it also has to make sense for the reader. Draw your audience in with an enticing, targeted headline that creates interest in the topic. The titles shouldn’t be long, but to the point and be instantly understandable to the person who’s reading it. Your website’s content is critically important in gaining a high placement with the search engines, and it should always prove to be of superior quality and related to the topic.

By adding categories to your blog that are relevant, they can arrange and clean up everything. Putting your posts and pages in the right order is also a vital step to ensure that your website is clear and makes sense to the search engines and to your visitors. Organization is the name of the game, so get rid of clutter and make it a point to streamline your information. Using the permalink function in Wordpress will allow the category to show up in the full URL for every post that you add to your site. Not only does this give a boost to your SEO efforts, it also lets your visitors know exactly what the post is about because they’ll see it in the URL.

Many people using Wordpress ignore the most important SEO factor ? changing the blog’s permalink structure. How come? While the default permalink structure is perfectly sufficient, it includes characters that are not necessarily SEO friendly, such as numbers. Because of this, you have to include your postings title in the URL. You can do this by customizing the permalinks in the option settings of your Wordpress blog.

The Basic Knowledge Of Bandwidth

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Bandwidth is about the volume of data passed though the Internet. You have to know how much bandwidth you need while choosing hosting plans.

Be careful when someone claims they provide unlimited bandwidth or monthly transfer. Anyone claiming “Unlimited Bandwidth” is simply lying. There’s no such thing as “Unlimited Bandwidth”.

I抳e never seen any broadband company offering an internet connection as “Unlimited Megabytes per Second.” So, how could a web hosting company, which normally doesn’t even own its own access lines, claims to customers that it will give them “Unlimited Bandwidth”?

Most of the time, high bandwidth sites on these “Unlimited” plans will be disconnected, and no refund given. Normally, the web hosting company will say that the site violated its Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Service.

Whenever you visit a site promoting “Unlimited Bandwidth” as one of the account features, be sure to visit the Acceptable Use Policy, or the Terms of Service. Read the fine text about the so-called “Unlimited” disclaimer.

When you first look for web hosting services (those who state clearly bandwidth offered), you have to make your best estimation and watch your usage carefully in the first few months. Take these factors into consideration while estimating.

**How many users will access your web site?

**How many pages to be access?

**How big are the graphic and HTML files?

Large audio/video files, computer programs, and file downloads require more bandwidth. Flash web sites use tons of bandwidth. Virtual Reality (VR) and full-length three-dimensional audio/visual presentations require the most bandwidth of all.

Though it is not accurate, but still gives you something to work with until your site has been online for a while and actual traffic statistics have been generated.

Don抰 fall for the unlimited bandwidth trap that some companies throw at you.

Should I Create a Website? Do I Need One?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

People always want to follow the latest thing, be it in fashion, sports, that kind of thing. Websites have become a necessity to almost everyone. Companies, businesses, individuals, even young adults have created personal websites with their respective purposes, be it for profit, or for entertainment.

What one must consider, however, before creating a website, are the factors in which must be put to thought before doing so, such as the cost, maintenance, use, web host and so forth.

Firstly, associating with the cost, we must always try to find an affordable host, not spending too much, nor too little. A cheap host does not exactly symbolize a credible reliability rating, but we must always look for value for money deals. Also, regarding the efficiency and server/web host reliability, there are many cases of web hosts not providing the service they had assured other people, some had even shut down and were nowhere to be seen. Keep this note in mind, as if you would like a long-lasting website, this would be the first thing to look for.

Next, would hiring a professional be affordable? Is it the best option? For simple websites, we could always pick up the coding, or even use programs, as it is relatively simple. However, when it comes to more complex coding, and when you want it to do a tad more than just providing information, hiring help in doing so would be the best way. Not only in terms of design, but security is also a key factor in assuring a quality website. If the website also acts as a portal for businesses, security would definitely be the issue here.

So, having considered the things to do before building a website, do we actually NEED one? If creating one would boost sales or promote positive implications to oneself, then by all means, go ahead and do what is the best. Yet again, planning is the key to success, in everything we do.

Link Building Strategies That Will Stop Your Site From Being A Chump

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

In this article I’m going to show you how virtually anyone can take a chump site and make it a champ with nothing more than proper link building strategies. By the end of this article you will have a clear understanding of the power of the link building. Trust me it can make or break a website.

During my workshops I am often asked how do I take a new domain and literally crush a website with a domain age way superior to mine. The answer is simple… Link juice! Yep you heard me right I understand the power of “Link Juice”. Ok let me start explaining a little better before you start thinking I have lost my mind.

When I first decide to enter into a market chances are there are tons of competitors already slugging it out. I know that the competition is going to be ferocious and trust me… I enter the market with the gloves off! I’m going to show you exactly what it is I do to take my competitors lunch money anytime I feel like it and there is nothing they can do to stop me. I start my link building strategies by submitting articles to hundreds of sites. I know your thinking big whoop everyone does that. The difference between me and my competition is they send article with the same backlinks to the article sites. I very the keyword phrases in my articles while still keeping it highly targeted.

After I have completed the task of article submissions I move on to directory submissions. Once again this is an area where the average marketer will simply blast there links to hundreds of directories using some fancy automated software. Please don’t miss understand me I am all for automation and I recommend that you automate much as possible. However automation should be used intelligently.

I don’t want to take anything for granted so let me explain a few basics first. A backlink pointing to your site is equal to someone casting a vote for your site. For example let’s say your website is about potty training and you posted a backlink on a sports website that has a PR of 3. That link could end up doing more harm than good when it comes to viewing your website as an authority site. On the other hand if you were to generate a backlink on a directory that had a PR of 3 and the theme of the site was about parenting or raising children that would be considered a powerful backlink to have and would be ten times more valuable than 100 poorly placed backlinks.

It’s time to keep marching forward with my Gorilla link building strategy plan. The next step is to attack the social networking sites. The reason for this step has two parts. The first of course is to create high quality backlinks the second is to get the targeted page listed in the search engines fast. You must realize there are thousands of social sites out there with new ones popping up everyday. At this point the only sites that I am concerned with is the ones that offer dofollow links. If you follow my sound advice my friend you will find yourself crushing your competition, and raking in the cash. I never ever blindly attempt to promote my sites, I use bully like precision.

As with everything I do I want to make sure that my readers have a clear understanding of what it is that I am trying to accomplish. I do not want you to be misled in anyway. The information that I have given you in this article will indeed help you to dominate the search engines but there’s more to it and there’s no way I could give you my complete system in one article. Don’t get me wrong the information in this article is solid and will aid in driving organic traffic to your website as well as give you high quality backlinks.
