keep in mind links alone can’t do it… you’ve gotta have relevant, dynamic content as well. It also helps if people stay on your site after they visit (google sees this too!)

Note – it’s good to check out what the other main search engines consider as a backlink too – This way if Google does use them (i.e. the nofollow ones) in any way you have a more accurate target to get.
